In this material, we’ll explain how to open and fund a brokerage account with the investment company Freedom Broker. Watch the video guides or read the quick summaries in the text. We hope this helps you start investing and growing your personal capital.
Summary:
Step 1.Download the Freedom Broker mobile app. It can be downloaded for free from the App Store, Play Market, or Huawei App Gallery. Step 2. Launch the app and click “Register.” To create an account, simply enter an email and create a password. Note: If you are already registered and have another brokerage account with Freedom Broker, you must use a different email. Alternatively, you can use your email with “+1” added before the “@” symbol (e.g., [email protected]). After setting up your account, set a PIN for quick access to the app.
Step 3.Enter your mobile phone number and confirm it with an SMS code. Step 4.Specify your country of citizenship. In this example, it’s Kazakhstan. Then, indicate whether your residence address matches your registration address. Step 5.Confirm that the primary purpose of opening the account is brokerage services in the securities market. If necessary, specify otherwise. Step 6.Fill in the tax details. At this step, you generally only need to:
enter your individual identification number (IIN),
indicate whether you are a public official,
confirm that you are not a U.S. citizen, and
specify how you learned about Freedom Broker.
Step 7.Review the service terms. To read them, click the blue-highlighted fields with the information icon. Confirm that you have read and agree with the terms. Step 8.Confirm your agreement via an SMS code. Step 9.Complete document and selfie verification. If you are a citizen of Kazakhstan, you can complete verification with either your passport or ID card. Take a photo of the front side of the ID. Then, take a photo of the back side of the document. The second verification step is selfie verification. Position your face within the green frame using your phone’s front camera and hold it steady for a few seconds. Important Note: If your residence address does not match your registration address, you will need to complete an additional check to confirm your address. To do this, take a photo or upload any document that shows your full name and residence address. Suitable documents include:
a bank statement,
a utility bill, or
an eGov.kz electronic certificate.
Step 10.All set! After all checks, you will see a screen showing the status of your document and selfie verification. This usually takes about two minutes. Once completed, the app will display a “Successfully completed!” message. When the brokerage account is open, you will receive an SMS and an email notification. Congratulations, you're one step away from investing! To buy your first securities, all you need to do is fund your account.
