How to Trade Options through the Freedom Broker Mobile App?
1. In the “Quotes” section, find the underlying asset you are interested in - a stock or ETF.
For example, enter the FRHC.US ticker in the search (not an investment recommendation).
2. The “Info” tab will open in the instrument card. You will see a price chart of the selected stocks. Below the chart, there will be the "Options on FRHC.US" section (or another stock ticker).
Select direction:
- “Grow” — for buying a Call option
- “Fall” — for buying a Put option
3. In the window that opens, set up:
- Strike price
- Option expiration date.
4. Click “Buy” at the bottom of the screen.
5. In the order settings:
- Specify the purchase price if you select a limit order.
- For a market order, leave the price field blank.
- Specify the number of contracts.
6. Click “Place order”. Done - your order to buy the option is sent to the exchange.
Please note!
The option price is per stock, but options are traded in lots.
One lot = 100 stocks.
The actual cost of the option = the option price x 100.
Before you start trading options, be sure to read the F.A.Q. and the disclaimer on the risks associated with derivatives. All information is available in the Freedom Broker app before buying an option.
We also recommend that you take the free video course "Basics of Options Reading".
