Калифорнийский стартап nEye Systems, работающий над инновационными сетевыми чипами для дата-центров с ИИ, привлёк $58 млн в рамках нового раунда венчурного финансирования, пишет Reuters. 


Раунд возглавил фонд CapitalG, поддерживаемый корпорацией Alphabet (материнская компания Google, GOOGL).


nEye разрабатывает чипы, которые передают данные не через электрические сигналы, а с помощью оптической технологии — в форме света. Такой подход обещает значительно сократить энергопотребление в дата-центрах, работающих с искусственным интеллектом — одной из ключевых задач на фоне растущего спроса на ИИ-инфраструктуру. 


К направлению уже проявляют интерес технологические гиганты вроде Nvidia (NVDA), а также молодые компании в стремлении занять нишу в будущем поколении вычислительных систем.


Сумма, привлечённая калифорнийским стартапом nEye Systems, является очень небольшой, и о том, насколько вырастет капитализация стартапа после раунда финансирования, пока не сообщается, а может быть, оценка стартапа пока не показала роста его капитализации в десятки раз, подчёркивает ведущий аналитик Freedom Finance Global Наталья Мильчакова. Тем не менее, выпуск сетевых чипов для ЦОД на базе ИИ, которым занимается стартап, на наш взгляд, является весьма перспективным бизнесом, а участие в его финансировании фонда, принадлежащего корпорации Alphabet, может в будущем стать одним из драйверов роста капитализации nEye Systems.
