Toyota Motor и принадлежащая Alphabet (GOOGL) компания Waymo  объявили о стратегическом партнёрстве по разработке и внедрению технологий автономного вождения, передаёт Bloomberg. 


Согласно совместному заявлению, стороны намерены создать новую платформу для беспилотных автомобилей, а также интегрировать технологии автономного управления в будущие поколения личных автомобилей Toyota. 


Toyota разработает платформу, которая будет использоваться в автопарке Waymo, в то время как компании совместно исследуют возможности применения технологий автономного вождения американской корпорации в серийных автомобилях Toyota. Участие в проекте также примет Woven by Toyota — подразделение автопроизводителя, занимающееся разработкой ИИ и автономных технологий.


Сотрудничество Toyota с Waymo открывает новые горизонты для обеих компаний, особенно в разработке автономных технологий и их коммерциализации, отмечает аналитик Freedom Finance Global Владимир Чернов. Это может повысить конкурентоспособность Toyota в сегменте самоуправляемых автомобилей и поддержать рост её акций, если проект окажется успешным.
