Компании Waymo (материнская компания Alphabet, GOOGL) и автогигант Magna International объявили о планах удвоить производство автономных такси на новом заводе в Месе в штате Аризона к концу 2026 года, пишет Bloomberg.


Предприятие под названием Waymo Driver Integration Plant занимает площадь 239 000 квадратных футов и уже в ближайшие годы выпустит более 2000 роботакси Jaguar I-PACE, которые пополнят текущий парк из примерно 1500 беспилотников.


В дополнение к этому, в 2024 году на заводе начнется сборка нового поколения роботакси Geely Zeekr RT, оснащённых шестым поколением системы автономного вождения Waymo Driver. В компании заявляют, что в будущем предприятие сможет производить десятки тысяч полностью автономных автомобилей в год.


Сотрудничество с канадской Magna International позволит привлечь инвестиции и наладить бесперебойную поставку комплектующих, отмечает ведущий аналитик Freedom Finance Global Наталья Мильчакова. Выпуск на этом заводе известных премиальных брендов, таких, как Jaguar и Zeekr, наверняка будет рассчитан на высокооплачиваемую целевую аудиторию.
