Paramount предложила $15 млн за урегулирование иска Трампа против CBS

Paramount Global (PARA) предложила $15 млн для урегулирования иска Дональда Трампа против CBS News, однако стороны остаются далеки от достижения договорённости, сообщает The Wall Street Journal.


Команда Трампа требует более $25 млн, а также публичных извинений от CBS News. Более того, экс-президент пригрозил подать ещё один иск, связанный с предполагаемой предвзятостью телеканала в освещении новостей.


Иск был подан в октябре 2024 года, в нём Трамп обвинил CBS в манипулятивном редактировании интервью с Камалой Харрис, на тот момент вице-президентом и кандидатом в президенты. По мнению Трампа, таким образом сеть стремилась повлиять на исход выборов в пользу Демократической партии. В феврале 2025 года Трамп увеличил сумму иска с $10 до $20 млрд.


Если телеканал CBS в конфликте с президентом Трампом готов отстаивать свою позицию даже в случае угрозы банкротства и лишения лицензии, то владелец телеканала, корпорация Paramount, не заинтересована в продолжении конфликта, подчёркивает ведущий аналитик Freedom Finance Global Наталья Мильчакова. Тем более, что судебное разбирательство увеличивает его издержки и угрожает срывом сделки по слиянию со Skydance. Подключение к данной процедуре регулятора отрасли телекоммуникаций FCC вполне может говорить о том, что урегулирование будет происходить с использованием административного ресурса, что для Paramount накануне сделки со Skydance было бы крайне нежелательно.
