Meta (META) возводит центр обработки данных в округе Ричленд в Луизиане, передает Reuters.

Объект станет крупнейшим в истории компании и обеспечит мощности для поддержки цифровой инфраструктуры и проектов в области искусственного интеллекта. Президент США Дональд Трамп на заседании кабинета министров заявил, что стоимость проекта может достичь $50 млрд, хотя сама Meta ранее оценивала расходы в более чем $10 млрд.

В июне компания реорганизовала направление искусственного интеллекта под брендом Superintelligence Labs, а генеральный директор Марк Цукерберг пообещал вложить сотни миллиардов долларов в развитие сети дата-центров. Ранее Reuters писало, что для финансирования проекта Meta привлекла $29 млрд от PIMCO и Blue Owl Capital (OWL).

Анонсирование столь масштабного проекта с бюджетом в $50 млрд подтверждает агрессивную стратегию Meta по наращиванию вычислительных мощностей для лидерства в гонке ИИ, считает аналитик Freedom Finance Global Владимир Чернов. Несмотря на долгосрочный позитивный эффект от усиления конкурентных преимуществ, инвесторы могут отреагировать негативно в краткосрочной перспективе из-за ожидаемого значительного роста капитальных затрат и давления на маржинальность. Котировки акций Meta могут испытать волатильность, однако это стратегически необходимое вложение для будущего роста, и рынок в конечном итоге его одобрит. Таким образом сегодня на открытии торгов ценные бумаги компании могут немного подешеветь.
