Nvidia (NVDA) has announced its entry into the personal computer processor market, CNBC reports. Major players in this segment include Intel (INTC), AMD (AMD), and Apple (AAPL). Nvidia is a US technology company and a global leader in graphics processing units (GPUs) and AI computing systems.
“Microsoft and Nvidia are going to reinvent the PC. This is the first fully redesigned PC lineup in 40 years,” said Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA.
At Computex in Taipei, he unveiled the new RTX Spark Superchip, which will appear in laptops and desktops as early as autumn 2026. Developed jointly with MediaTek, it will run on Windows for Arm. Initial devices will be released by Dell (DELL), Lenovo, HP (HPQ), ASUS, MSI, and other manufacturers.
The RTX Spark is designed for on‑device AI workloads. The new design integrates the N1X Arm‑based CPU and the Blackwell GPU accelerator. The processor will feature up to 20 computing cores, a Blackwell graphics unit with 6,144 cores, and up to 128 GB of unified memory. Data exchange between components will use the NVLink interface, previously used mainly in data centres. Manufacturing will be handled by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) using a 3 nm process.
Nvidia shares have been trading near all‑time highs in recent months. The company’s market capitalisation exceeds $5 trillion, making it one of the world’s most valuable public companies. In the latest quarter, Nvidia’s revenue reached $68.1 billion, and net profit exceeded $40 billion. Since the beginning of 2026, the stock has risen approximately 20–25%.
