i-80 Gold (IAUX) delivered strong Q1 2026 results, prompting Freedom analysts to upgrade the stock’s target price from $2 to $2.60, while maintaining the Buy recommendation. The key highlight of the quarter was the completion of a large-scale recapitalization program, which brought in approximately $787.5 million in funding.
i-80 Gold is engaged in the exploration, development, and production of gold in Nevada. The company’s core assets include the Granite Creek, Archimedes, and Cove deposits, as well as the Lone Tree processing complex, which is expected to be a key driver of future production growth.
The company's Q1 revenue rose to $52.4 million, exceeding analyst expectations thanks to increased gold sales and rising gold prices. Gold sales totaled 10.6 thousand ounces, and gross profit reached a record $16.1 million. The Granite Creek project was the primary contributor to the improved operating performance.
At Freedom, analysts believe that investors will now focus not on current financial results, but on the significant reduction in financing risks. Following the capital raise, the company’s cash and cash equivalents have increased to $513.5 million. Management confirmed that funding for the first and second stages of the Nevada development strategy is now fully secured.
According to Freedom analysts, the completion of the recapitalization allows the market to shift its focus from financial risks to project implementation and future production growth. Over the next 12–18 months, the key catalysts for the stock are expected to be:
- Completion of feasibility studies for the Granite Creek and Cove projects;
- First gold production at Upper Archimedes by the end of 2026;
- Continued progress on the Lone Tree complex reconstruction.
Freedom expects that the successful implementation of these projects will enable the company to significantly increase its gold production and strengthen its position among precious metals producers in Nevada.
Not an individual investment recommendation.
