Freedom Broker analysts raised their price target on Gorman-Rupp Company (GRC) shares in light of strong financial results for Q2 FY 2026. Despite record figures and resilient demand across several segments, the experts maintained a “Hold” rating. The new price target is $80 versus the current price of $82.4, implying a decline of about 2.9%.

Gorman-Rupp is a U.S. manufacturer of pumps and pumping systems for water supply, industry, construction, agriculture, the oil and gas sector, fire protection, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment). The company has operated since 1933 and supplies equipment to more than 100 countries worldwide.

Gorman-Rupp’s profit is growing faster than revenue

Freedom Broker believes the quarter was high quality: the company was able to turn moderate sales growth into a much faster increase in profit thanks to effective pricing, a favorable product mix, and reduced leverage.

According to the analysts, Gorman-Rupp’s key advantage remains its diversified business structure. Even if the municipal segment continues to face pressure due to delays in infrastructure projects, demand from industrial customers, agriculture, and data centers can offset this weakness.

Record second-quarter results

In Q2 2026, Gorman-Rupp posted record quarterly revenue of $186.1 million, up 3.9% year over year.

Net income rose to $19.4 million from $15.8 million a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share increased from $0.60 to $0.74, also setting a new all-time high.

Adjusted EBITDA increased 8.3% to $38.2 million, and the EBITDA margin reached 20.5%. Gross margin rose by 130 basis points to 32.6% thanks to implemented price increases and an improved sales mix.

Growth was driven by construction, agriculture, and data centers

The main driver of the quarter was broad-based demand across several markets. Sales in the construction segment increased by $4.7 million due to activity from mining companies and the equipment rental market. The agricultural business added $4.2 million as sales of the Fill-Rite fuel and fluid transfer equipment brand recovered; Gorman-Rupp acquired it in 2022

The industrial segment also posted growth, while the OEM business (manufacturing custom pumps and pumping systems for original equipment manufacturers) received additional support due to higher demand from data center operators.

At the same time, international sales of fire-suppression system equipment declined due to lower shipments to the Middle East, and the municipal segment continues to face delays in some projects.

Data centers are becoming one of the drivers

Freedom Broker analysts note that one of the most promising areas for Gorman-Rupp remains data center infrastructure. The company supplies equipment at virtually all stages of building such facilities—from pumps for water infrastructure to HVAC, fire protection systems, and OEM solutions for server cooling. According to management estimates, data centers already account for 10–12% of revenue in the relevant business lines.

Risks remain in the municipal segment

Analysts cite municipal infrastructure as the main area of uncertainty. Rising equipment and labor costs are pushing projects above their original budgets, causing some tenders to be postponed. An additional risk is a possible reduction in water infrastructure funding in the U.S. FY 2027 budget proposal.

At the same time, analysts believe that high business diversification and resilient industrial demand allow the company to maintain stable long-term prospects.

How Gorman-Rupp reported for the first quarter

In Q1 2026, Gorman-Rupp also reported strong financial results. Revenue grew 7.7% year over year to $176.6 million, and net income reached a record $17.8 million, or $0.68 per share. Growth was driven by price increases, strong demand in the construction, industrial, and agricultural segments, and a rise in orders related to the expansion of data center infrastructure. New orders increased 5.5% to $187.5 million, and backlog reached $247.9 million. In April, the company’s board of directors also declared the 305th consecutive quarterly dividend of $0.19 per share, reaffirming Gorman-Rupp’s commitment to a stable dividend policy.
