On August 4, Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) reported a Q2 net loss of $541 million, compared with a loss of $1.0 billion a year earlier.
Adjusted loss was 9 cents per share. Revenue for the period increased to $7.81 billion from $4.1 billion. Preliminary forecasts had expected revenue of $6.93 billion.
The company reported an operating loss in its AI business of $1.26 billion, which was better than the consensus forecast calling for a loss of $2.39 billion. Capital expenditures totaled $18.37 billion, below the consensus estimate of $18.58 billion. The number of Starlink satellite internet subscribers (the company’s only profitable segment) reached 12 million, versus a consensus forecast of 12.19 million.
