On August 5, Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) reported Q3 net profit of $2.64 billion ($1.51 per share), compared with $5.26 billion ($2.92 per share) a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings were $2.06 per share. Revenue for the period rose to $25.25 billion from $23.65 billion. Preliminary forecasts had called for earnings of $1.86 per share on revenue of $25.4 billion. Disney+ and Hulu revenue increased 11% to $5.53 billion.
In addition, Disney said it now plans to repurchase at least $9 billion of shares in fiscal 2026, up from the previous figure of $8 billion.
The company also separately announced that it has entered into a global agreement with TikTok that, it said, will make it possible to “bring onto Disney platforms a vast collection of carefully curated fan-created Disney content from TikTok.”
