Eurozone retail sales volume in June 2026 rose 0.7% compared with the same month a year earlier, according to data published by the European Union’s statistical agency Eurostat. Compared with the previous month, retail sales fell 0.3%, marking the second decline in four full months since the start of the conflict. A 0.1% increase had been expected, compared with May following a 0.4% rise in May.

SoftBank Group Corp. obtained a $10 billion margin loan secured by its stake in OpenAI, according to the group’s latest report. SoftBank entered into an agreement with Goldman Sachs Bank USA, JPMorgan Chase Bank NA, Mizuho Securities USA LLC, Apollo Global Funding LLC and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. to provide a two-year loan under terms requiring the borrower to post cash or repay early upon certain events, such as a sharp decline in the value of OpenAI preferred shares.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Moderna’s mRNA flu vaccine mFlusiva for adults aged 50 and older, Bloomberg reported. The mFlusiva vaccine also received expedited review for people aged 65 and older.
