FAA orders inspections for fuselage cracks in Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered safety inspections of 471 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in the United States after cracks were found in structural reinforcement around service access doors on older aircraft models. 

The order applies to the 737-8, 737-9 and 737-8200 variants. Boeing said the issue has not been observed on MAX series aircraft, but inspections were expanded because the model has a similar design and manufacturing technology to older planes.
