Boeing (NYSE: BA) delivered 53 commercial aircraft to customers in July, which is 17% less than June’s figure of 64 jets, though 5 aircraft more than a year earlier. The U.S. planemaker also significantly trailed its European rival Airbus, which handed over 67 aircraft to clients in July.
The bulk of Boeing’s July deliveries were 737 MAX family aircraft — 39 jets. In addition, the company delivered 10 wide-body 787 Dreamliners, one 777 freighter, and three 767s. Thus, despite the decline in overall deliveries, the 737 MAX program continues to remain Boeing’s main source of commercial deliveries.
In the first 7 months of 2026, Boeing delivered 367 aircraft. Of these, 279 were 737 MAX, and another 50 were 787s. Thus, nearly 76% of all company deliveries year-to-date have come from the most in-demand family of narrow-body aircraft.
At the same time, Boeing continues to receive new orders. In July, the company booked 38 orders; however, 8 of them were subsequently canceled, so the net increase amounted to 30 aircraft. New orders included 18 737 MAX aircraft and 19 787 aircraft. Most of these deals were announced during the July air show in Farnborough.
Boeing’s July result was weaker than Airbus’s: the European company delivered 67 aircraft versus 53 for its U.S. rival. Airbus also maintains an advantage in cumulative deliveries since the start of the year, underscoring the persistent gap between the world’s two largest commercial aircraft manufacturers.
