Freedom Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş., part of Freedom Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: FRHC), has received a license to conduct brokerage activities from the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB). It became the first foreign brokerage company with broad authority to receive such approval in Türkiye in the past 34 years.
Freedom Yatırım’s entry into the Turkish market involves not only expanding brokerage services, but also integrating Türkiye into Freedom Holding Corp.’s international infrastructure. Based on its proprietary trading platform TraderNet, the company plans to broaden Turkish investors’ access to global capital markets and ensure closer interaction between Turkish and international financial markets.
In turn, for investors in Türkiye this means the gradual provision of access to international markets through the group’s global brokerage capabilities.
Freedom Yatırım has already integrated its solutions with Borsa İstanbul, enabling Freedom Holding Corp.’s international brokerage network—serving more than 870 000 client accounts across various markets—to access investment opportunities in Türkiye. The cooperation will also help expand international participation in the capital market of the Republic of Türkiye and strengthen links between Borsa İstanbul and global markets.
As part of Freedom Holding Corp.’s broader strategy, Freedom Yatırım and Freedom Bank will combine the group’s capabilities in capital markets and the banking sector with a range of lifestyle services on a single digital platform.
Timur Turlov, Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Holding Corp., said:
“Obtaining a license in Türkiye is a serious vote of confidence from the regulator and a reflection of the resilience we have built as part of our international operations.
Freedom Holding Corp.’s broader strategy in Türkiye is to create an integrated digital financial ecosystem based on Freedom Bank and Freedom Yatırım. At the same time, we will leverage the group’s experience in Kazakhstan, where the super app Freedom SuperApp, which combines banking, investment and everyday digital services within a single platform, has already become an integral part of people’s daily lives. In Türkiye, we plan to adapt this model to the needs of the local market, consistently bringing together banking, brokerage and other financial services along with services for day-to-day living in a single seamless digital environment.”
Receiving the license was an important milestone for Freedom Yatırım, and the company continues preparations to begin operations. Comprehensive system testing is currently underway, and operational readiness is being finalized. This will make it possible to launch an investment service that meets the requirements of the Turkish market and the needs of local investors.
