Target reported 2Q results above expectations and raised its full-year outlook

On August 19, Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) reported net income of $1.88 billion ($4.11 per share) for the second fiscal quarter, compared with $935 million ($2.05 per share) a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings per share were $2.46. Revenue for the period increased to $26.54 billion from $25.21 billion in the same period last year. Comparable store sales rose 3.8%. The adjusted EPS figure was previously expected at $2.33 on revenue of $26.14 billion and comparable sales growth of 2.4%. For fiscal 2026, Target raised its forecast and now expects net earnings per share in the range of $9.90–10.90 (or $8.25–9.25 excluding tariffs), compared with its prior guidance of $7.50–8.50.
