Private-sector activity in the euro area improved slightly thanks to the strongest growth in manufacturing in more than four years. The S&P Global Flash Eurozone Composite PMI Output Index rose to 52.1 from 52 in July, remaining above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction.
