Freedom Broker analysts recommend “Buy” shares of BlackLine (BL), a U.S. developer of cloud solutions for automating accounting and financial processes. The target price is $39.90 with an entry price of $34.37, implying upside potential of 16.1%. The idea’s horizon runs through December 23, 2026. The experts’ main arguments are the development of the partnership with SAP and the potential for faster sales growth, which could be confirmed by the November 5 report.

What BlackLine is
BlackLine develops software that helps companies close reporting periods faster, reconcile accounts, run intercompany settlements, and manage accounts receivable—the money customers are supposed to pay.
The company’s main revenue comes from subscriptions. Its solutions integrate with enterprise ERP systems that combine accounting and enterprise resource management.
Why SAP’s results matter for BlackLine
In Freedom Broker’s view, SAP’s (SAP) strong Q3 results create an additional argument in favor of BlackLine shares. SAP Cloud ERP Suite revenue rose 28% year over year, while the cloud order backlog for the next 12 months increased 26% in constant currency, i.e., excluding the impact of exchange-rate changes.
BlackLine is a strategic partner of SAP. Its products complement the capabilities of the S/4HANA enterprise system, and some solutions are sold directly through SAP. More than 1,200 customers use the joint products.
Analysts believe that companies’ migration to cloud ERP systems expands BlackLine’s opportunities: along with upgrading the core accounting platform, companies can automate related financial processes.
The November 5 report will be the nearest test of the idea
BlackLine will present Q3 results on November 5. Freedom Broker experts expect the results and management’s commentary to help assess corporate demand and the outlook for joint sales with SAP. In Q2, BlackLine revenue grew 9.2% year over year, and remaining performance obligations, or RPO, increased 16.8%. RPO reflects future revenue under contracts already signed that the company has not yet recognized in its financial statements.
According to analysts, confirmation of accelerating sales or an improved Q4 outlook could support the stock. An additional driver could be the commercialization of Verity AI solutions, which are already starting to generate revenue. The main risk to the idea is the absence of signs of acceleration in new contracts. Strong partner results create a favorable backdrop, but BlackLine still has to confirm it with its own metrics.
The technical picture supports the growth scenario
As an additional argument, Freedom Broker cites growing investor interest in software developers. As of October 22, the ratio of the sector fund IGV to the technology XLK reached its highest level since early April 2026. Analysts view this as a sign of stronger relative performance among software companies.
BlackLine shares rose 8.9% on October 22 and closed above the 200-day moving average—the average price over the last 200 trading days, used to gauge the long-term trend. The next meaningful level, in the experts’ view, is $34.5. A confident hold above it could open a move toward the $39.9 target price.
Idea parameters and company valuation
Freedom Broker classifies the idea as high risk. The report includes a stop-loss at $30.70 and a position size of 2%. BlackLine’s market capitalization at the time of writing was $2.00 billion. The company was trading at a forward P/E of 12.68 versus a two-year median of 23.06. This ratio shows the relationship between the share price and expected earnings.
Thus, the nearest event for assessing BlackLine’s prospects will be the November earnings report. It should show how customers’ migration to cloud systems and the development of joint sales with SAP are affecting the company’s own business.
This is not an individual investment recommendation.
