Freedom analysts point to The Walt Disney Company’s (DIS) relatively moderate valuation as an argument for buying a call option ahead of the company’s earnings report on November 17. In Investment Review No. 356 dated October 23, the company’s forward P/E is estimated at about 14–15x. With the $3.95 premium cited in the document and a $6.2 target, the expected return on the options trade is 57% over a four–eight week horizon.

What could lead to a rerating of Disney
Disney combines a media business, streaming platforms, a sports division, theme parks, and cruises. In Freedom’s new publication, the main emphasis is on the possibility of a rerating ahead of the earnings report and on profit forecasts for fiscal 2027.
Forward P/E shows how many times the share price exceeds expected annual earnings per share. The analysts consider the roughly 14–15x level in combination with the prospects of improving profitability of subscription services and resilient results in the Experiences segment.
The nearest test of this thesis is the report on November 17. Confident profit guidance for the next fiscal year could support the investment idea, while conservative guidance remains one of its key risks.
For streaming, revenue per user matters
In the review, the experts highlight an increase in ARPU—average revenue per user—after subscription price hikes for Disney+ and Hulu. To improve the company’s margin, it is necessary to retain the audience at higher price points. Thus, analysts’ attention is focused on the combination of two indicators: revenue per subscriber and the stability of the customer base. Potential user churn after the price increase is included in the list of risks. The second argument is steady growth in Experiences revenue and operating profit driven by amusement parks and cruises.
The review cites a $3.95 premium
In previously published material, the cost of entry into the call option was $4.50 with a $6.20 target and an expected return of about 37.8%. Review No. 356 cites a $3.95 premium with the same $6.2 target. With these parameters, the expected profit is $225 per standard contract and the return is 57%.
The contract terms remain as follows: strike price $115, expiration December 18, 2026, designation +DIS.18DEC2026.C115. The assumed holding period is about four–eight weeks. The $3.95 premium is a deal parameter from the review, not a confirmed current market quote. The $6.2 target refers to the option price.
How much you can lose
To buy one standard contract corresponding to 100 shares at the stated premium requires $395. This is the buyer’s maximum possible loss. On the expiration date, the breakeven point is $118.95 per Disney share. If the stock is priced at no more than $115, the buyer will lose the entire premium. At a price between $115 and $118.95, the loss will be partial. Above $118.95, the position will generate a profit. These levels describe the outcome if held to expiration. The investment idea allows for the option to be sold earlier upon reaching the premium target.
What could disrupt Freedom’s scenario
In addition to subscriber churn, analysts note an unfavorable situation in the advertising market, rising ESPN costs, weak results, and cautious management guidance. A call option makes it possible to participate in a rise in the shares while limiting losses to the size of the premium, but it has a fixed срок действия. Therefore, for this trade, both the direction of price movement and the timing of the scenario’s realization matter.
This is not an индивидуальной investment recommendation.
