Corporate actions are the activities of the issuer aimed at distributing income in cash or other form among holders of securities, or changing the structure of securities.
Examples of corporate actions:
Split – is a division of shares. The company increases the number of issued shares several times and proportionally reduces their price. This makes the share price more affordable to new investors.
Dividend payment – the company distributes income among shareholders.
Delisting – the company's shares cease to be traded on the stock exchange and are excluded from the official stock exchange lists.
Spin-off – the company allocates part of its business into a separate enterprise. Its shares may begin to be traded on the stock exchange independently.
Mergers and acquisitions – two companies may merge “on equal terms”, or one company may acquire another and completely absorb it.
Important to consider when making transactions
During some of these events, it is impossible to place a trading order on the issuer's securities in the Freedom Broker trading platform until its corporate action is completed.
You must wait until the updated information is reflected in your portfolio.
